Starting from Marrakech
Round trips & one-way departuresMarrakech is the most common starting point for Morocco desert tours. From here the road south crosses the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka, passes Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, and continues east through the Dades Valley and Todra Gorge to Erg Chebbi. Tours return to Marrakech or continue north to Fes.
Starting from Fes
One-way to MarrakechTours from Fes head south through the Middle Atlas to Erg Chebbi, then west through Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley to Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech. The natural route for travellers who arrive in Fes by train or who have already spent time in the north.
Starting from Rabat

One-way to Marrakech · Grand circuitsMorocco's main international airport hub. Tours travel north via Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, and Fes before heading south to the Sahara and finishing in Marrakech. Longer itineraries add the Atlantic coast, Essaouira, and extended time in the imperial cities.
